Our Motorcycle Trauma Care Course

by | Aug 24, 2026 | DocBike partner news, DocBike UK, Dorset, Somerset And Avon

Our Motorcycle Trauma Care (MTC) course was developed by the charity initially in the Somerset & Avon area and has since been rolled out into Dorset, with more regions looking to take it on. Registered clinicians need to undertake Continuous Professional Development as part of their registration, and this course can form part of this.
Motorcyclists are a high-acuity, low-occurrence patient group.
Our MTC course allows clinicians to explore the types of collisions that can occur, the hazards associated with working around motorcycles, and the considerations that can make these incidents different from four-wheeled vehicles.
We also revisit key clinical skills that may be required at a motorcycle collision, skills that can be equally valuable across a wide range of other incidents.
Most importantly, our sessions are delivered in a relaxed, supportive learning environment, with shared experiences from the DocBike team and the clinicians taking part.
It’s about building confidence, sharing knowledge and helping clinicians feel better prepared when attending a motorbike incident.
