DocBike Shropshire Receives First Engagement Bike

DocBike Shropshire has reached an important and exciting milestone with the arrival of its first engagement bike, kindly donated by Nige from Telford.
Paul Collyer, Regional Lead for DocBike Shropshire, said:
“This is a really special moment for DocBike Shropshire. Having our first engagement bike gives us a visible and practical way to get out into the biking community, speak with riders, and share what DocBike is really about. We are incredibly grateful to Nige for his kindness and generosity. He wanted the bike to go to a good home, and we will make sure it is put to very good use.”
For Nige, this was not simply a case of passing on a motorcycle. With many years spent in the motorcycle world, both professionally and as a personal passion, he wanted the bike to go somewhere it would be appreciated and put to good use.
That is exactly what will now happen.
The bike will soon be liveried in DocBike branding and used as a visible engagement vehicle at motorcycle meets, public events, and community gatherings across Shropshire. It will help the team connect with rider’s face to face, start positive conversations, and share the prevention-led message that sits at the heart of DocBike’s work.
A Bike with a New Purpose
DocBike is sometimes misunderstood as being only about medical response after a collision has happened.
That is part of the story — and the clinical experience behind DocBike is important — yet the bigger mission is prevention.
DocBike exists because its clinicians and volunteers see the outcomes of motorcycle collisions firsthand. The goal is not simply to be there afterwards. The goal is to help riders avoid becoming involved in serious collisions in the first place.
That means being out in the biking community. It means meeting riders where they already are. It means calm, respectful, rider-to-rider conversations about skill, focus, awareness, choices, and margin.
The new engagement bike gives DocBike Shropshire a practical and highly visible way to do exactly that.
Once liveried, it will be seen at motorcycle events and popular meeting points across the county, helping to make DocBike Shropshire more recognisable and approachable to local riders.
Part of the Shropshire Riding Community
DocBike Shropshire is here to work with riders, not talk down to them.
The team supports better riding, continued development, and positive conversations around how motorcyclists can keep enjoying the thrill of the roads while giving themselves more time, space, and options when things change quickly.
You may never need DocBike — and we would prefer it stays that way.
A Thank You to Nige
Everyone at DocBike Shropshire would like to offer a sincere thank you to Nige for his generous donation.
His decision to give the bike a new home will directly support the team’s ability to reach riders across Shropshire, attend more local events, and continue building relationships within the motorcycle community.
The bike will now be prepared and liveried before making its first appearances at motorcycle meets and events across Shropshire.
When you see it, please come over and say hello.
DocBike Shropshire looks forward to meeting local riders very soon.
