#AAW2023 – Day 7 – Sussex

It’s day 7 of air ambulance week and we’re dropping in on DocBike Sussex and their regional air ambulance charity, Kent Surrey & Sussex.
Air Ambulance Charity Kent, Surrey & Sussex has long been a leader in the field of Pre-Hospital care and DocBike is very pleased to be working with them on our motorcycle injury prevention and engagement programme.

Air Ambulance Kent, Surrey & Sussex has attended 40,000 incidents since its inception in 1989. They are committed to providing the highest quality of care to patients and ensuring a life-saving service is available to as many people as possible, regardless of the time of day. DocBike Sussex is very proud to work alongside their clinical staff in delivering BikerDown whilst also raising awareness and much-needed donations to assist them in providing the highest standard of pre-hospital care to the people of Kent Surrey and Sussex.

David Price is a motorcyclist who was knocked off of his bike by a car exiting a side junction. He was severely injured and needed the critical care skills and fast transfer capability that the air ambulance brings. Hear his story on how they helped him.
It’s these sorts of collisions that DocBike is passionate about helping riders to avoid. You can get some tips and tricks on how you can avoid some of the most common types of bike collisions (even when they’re not your fault) by checking out our no-nonsense guide.
With an average cost of £4,000 per mission, all air ambulance services need your help to remain in operation, save lives and improve patient outcomes. Taking part in Air Ambulance Charity Kent Surrey & Sussex’s Saving Time Appeal is a great way to support them.

Please share your support for all of the Air Ambulances across the UK during #AirAmbulanceWeek and in particular, check out AirAmbulancesUK and the charities that are currently actively supporting DocBike!
