Somerset & Avon “Ride Ready”

The Somerset & Avon region recently hosted a “Ride Ready” day at Quickshifter Café in Wells.
The event focused on engaging with local motorcyclists, raising awareness of the charity, and promoting opportunities to upskill through initiatives such as BikeSafe, Somerset Raise Your Ride, Biker Down, and Advanced riding.
Throughout the day, the team delivered hourly sessions, giving attendees the knowledge and confidence to respond if they witness or come across a collision. This included how to stay safe at the scene, manage catastrophic haemorrhage, carry out helmet removal, perform CPR and defibrillation, and look after their own wellbeing following an incident. Then being signposted to Biker Down to further their knowledge and skills.
The day was very well received, with 120 motorcyclists engaged over a six-hour period. Attendees also enjoyed the excellent hospitality at Quickshifter Café, including great coffee and food.
